Based on Section 5, Act 171, Bentong Municipal Council is a Local Authority (PBT) which function to organize, controll, plan the development and also land and building use in its administration area. Some of the Bentong Municipal Council functions are as following:-

Coordinating the growth of development projects. |

Collect revenue. |

Supervising cleanliness and solid waste disposal service. |

Monitoring cleanliness and enforcing public health regulations. |

Beautification of council's area. |

Deliberating on and approving business license. |
|
Evaluating properties in council's area. |
|
Acting as planner to ensure that development is organized, the beauty of council's area, its cleanliness and health are under control. |
